Memory Wall

We have had fairly bare walls for a long time. Recently we fixed that. We now have a large display area in the main room for family images. Prints, drawings, paintings, polaroids, etc and amen. Now when we go out on adventures together…we know that we want to stop and make images for the wall. Here are some samples of just the beginning.

Last Three Shots

Today I went out shooting with a great friend and fellow photographer. We were out shooting film, since he just got a hold of some film gear. I took the opportunity to say goodbye to my last three shots of Polaroid 100 Sepia. This film makes amazing prints. I have never been able to get it to scan right, so I always have to add the sepia color to these in post. Also, the paper texture on these is amazing! Sadly Polaroid doesn’t make it anymore, and though you can still get it from places like The Impossible Project, it is really expensive. When you have a great packfilm maker (Fuji) and can readily get the film for a fraction of what you would pay buying this stuff, I have to go with the newer material. Needless to say, and I am happy to have made these images, but sad to see the film go.

Fuji Instant Pack Film: FP-100C Testing

So I shoot a lot of instant film. When I post about Polaroid, I am using a Polaroid camera, but I am using Fuji instant film. I shoot a lot of black and white instant because it is so versitile. The color film is not a very “fast film” meaning that it takes a lot more light than the high-speed black and white I shoot at weddings. Regardless of this fact, I have been really anxious to continue playing with the color film, and have been especially interested in getting some of the washed out/older looking shots from it that I keep seeing on Flickr. It turns out you just over expose it a little. Here is my first round of seriously trying to get that look. Thanks to my sister Annemarie for standing in as my model for most of these.
As a side note, these were taken Christmas Eve afternoon, since it was actually sunny and bearably warm outside.

I am trying to shoot as much with this camera and film as I can. I am so in love with the full frame coverage of the image, and even though it has limitations, I love this camera for what it is giving me. More to come!
