You know that point when you do something in life and you think, “wow…I am really a grown up”? Those don’t really stop happening.

I got married right before I turned 21. Did I feel like an adult? Some of the time. I have two kids with a third on the way. Do I feel like an adult. Oh yes…yes I do.

But there are little things that we do, or that happen to us that startle me into remembering that I am really an adult. One of those things is finally putting in shelves. I know…little stuff right!?

Liam Freaking Out

I wanted to share with you folks a recent incident here at the Mahar Household. Below is a mini Portrait session with my wife and son Liam. We had some sunshine and I thought, we need to get out of the house and make some pictures. So out we went. These shots are in chronological order. I have running commentary throughout.

To start out…he’s doing alright, but can you see the mischief in his eyes?

This next shot is a favorite of mine. At this point I am thinking…”Yes this is great. Keep it coming!”

Liam has now decided that he needs his mama’s glasses.

Looks pretty happy about all this doesn’t he?

However, despite Sarah putting a good face on things, Liam loses the glasses and they go back on mama’s face. He is NOT happy about this.

Hi-Five always works…right?

No.

This next shot is the best in the whole session. It’s not pretty, but it really happened.

Airplane?

Nope…it aint flying.

The next shot on the right is the brief moment when Liam spots some neighbors walking their dogs. He likes dogs.

The dogs are now gone. He is no longer amused.

Memory Wall

We have had fairly bare walls for a long time. Recently we fixed that. We now have a large display area in the main room for family images. Prints, drawings, paintings, polaroids, etc and amen. Now when we go out on adventures together…we know that we want to stop and make images for the wall. Here are some samples of just the beginning.
